On-site aluminum spray painting

A smooth, even finish sprayed in place on railings, frames, fences and gates. Nothing is taken down or hauled away.

Spray application lays the coating on evenly, without brush marks, and reaches into joints, corners and the backs of pickets that a brush or roller misses.

Because the work happens on site, nothing is unbolted or trucked to a coating shop. We clean and sand, mask everything nearby, prime, then build up multiple finish coats. With proper preparation and quality materials, a sprayed aluminum finish typically lasts seven to ten years in South Florida.

Process

How the finish is made

On site, without removal. Expected finish life in South Florida: 7–10 years.

  1. Inspect

We assess the existing coating and note oxidation, chalking and peeling.

  2. Clean & sand

Dirt, salt and loose paint come off. Rough areas are sanded smooth.

  3. Mask & prime

Glass, stone and surrounding surfaces are masked. A bonding primer made for metal goes on first.

  4. Finish coats

Multiple spray-applied coats build an even, uniform finish.

  5. Walkthrough

We clean up completely and review the work with you before we leave.

Questions

On-site spray painting: common questions

Why spray instead of brush?

Spraying gives an even coat with no brush marks and reaches joints and edges a brush misses, which is where corrosion usually starts.

Do you need to remove anything?

No. Everything is painted in place. Surrounding surfaces are masked before any coating goes on.

Is overspray a problem?

Not when the work is masked properly. Glass, floors, stone, plants and nearby surfaces are covered first, and we clean up completely before we leave.
